The John Caouette Memorial Cabin was constructed with contributions from John’s family, friends, and the community of Juneau. The Juneau Community Foundation made this endeavor possible by providing a way to collect and distribute donated funds. The Congregation Sukkat Shalom provided critical support for construction of the cabin. A partnership between the Juneau Adult Hockey Association and the City of Juneau Parks and Recreation provides management and maintenance support throughout the year.

Many local businesses provided discounts for construction materials. We would like to thank the following businesses for their support of this building and the Juneau community: Icy Straits LumberValley Lumber, Ever Electric, Pollard Construction, Perseverance Glass, Tyler Rental, GR Cheeseman Construction, TFW Construction, AEL&P, Art Sutch Photography, Alaska Litho, and Aggpro Juneau.

Many people volunteered their time to build this cabin. We would like to extend special thanks to Loren Gehring for design and engineering, Gene Cheeseman for site preparation, Jeff Morehouse for leading the construction, Tom Wehnes for lending his expertise in assembling Icy Straits cabins, Steve Davis for leading the electricity installation, and Morgan Humphries-Davis for leading the landscaping.
